Totem Destroyer: Free Flash Game Review

Totem Destroyer Free Flash Game

For years people have loved playing free flash games online. Within the last year or so gaming producers finally caught up and started offering development deals to independant online game makers for console release. Since we're incredibly cheap here at 2BN, just like you, to us, that means we sure as hell better find the good ones now while they're still free!

The latest game to hit our radar is Totem Destroyer found on NewGrounds.com (read about and play it after the jump.)

SCORE:
Graphics: 7 - Nothing outstanding, but they get the job done.
Gameplay: 9.5 - Addictive and near flawless challenges.
Sound: 8 - Repetitive but fun music and sound effects
Creativity: 6 - Basically a 2D flash Boom Blox.
Overall Score: 8.5 - Well worth playing through once or twice.

While some may be starting to get sick of the recent rash of "physics games", in which just like a real life 400 pound woman, gravity is the enemy, as opposed to some evil genius, we still love them for the time being. (But don't worry, we have a short attention span within 3 months we'll start bashing them like everything else!).

They are always addicting for the short term, and since thats all we need to pretend we're doing work at our jobs until the end of the day it's just fine that there is no long term value.

Totem Destroyer is no exception. I DARE you to try to only play 1 level of this game. It's incredibly simple and even more rewarding when you beat a level. Also on the plus side, it's quite challenging on some levels, which is impressive since it doesn't introduce too many tricks to stump you, it just keeps the play simple and uses well built levels to get your brain muscles working. It's well worth the time.

Recheck your credit card balance -- if you're close to the limit, now is the time to settle up. There are lots of ways to manage debt like shaking trees and selling the apples that fall out. If you didn't understand this piece of advice, it's because you don't play Animal Crossing, and therefore, are not a complete idiot. Congratulations.

Game Obituary: RIP Comix Zone's Sketch Turner

March 10, 2009 by Jack Belmont

It would seem Sega is no longer a franchise but more importantly the video game industry has moved on from strictly 2D games. A pity really, since all that is Comix Zone will be lost forever.
