According to Gamestop.com, the computer communications company Paltalk is suing Blizzard, Sony, Activision, NCsoft and Turbine over a patent violation. The patent includes "technology for ways to control interactive applications over multiple computers." Earlier on this year Paltalk sued American computing juggernaut Microsoft and recieved an undisclosed settlement out of court, so it looks like they have a pretty strong case.
Now that you have the facts, let me ruin a perfectly good news report with slanted opinion (it's the American way!). Effectively, these companies are in big trouble for helping you talk to your guild. Can you imagine them making these games WITHOUT said technologies?
Now I don't want to condemn anyone without knowing all the legal jargon and "facts", because, let's face it, all of those companies have high priced lawyers that should've caught this. Either they need to be fired for incompetance or this really was a case of the big guy trying to screw the little guy.
My love for WoW has come face to face with my admiration for small bussiness and indie developers. All in all, I think I gotta take the "David's" side over the "Goliath's". Thankfully, my opinion doesn't matter in a court of law.
What's your take on the situation?

A.D.D. Report is the place where people who don't have patience ...blah blah blah.... get your news fast!

How do they do it?
By restraining the urges to have any original ideas of course!
Thats what the video game industry needs these days, more sequels. Forget creative new fresh ideas like Battle of the Bands, let's get another Guitar Hero! And lord knows none of us have had our fill of World War 2 shooters yet. *Groan*.
