Apologies in advance for the gushing, but I just have to tell you about my new foundation + brush combo! As my Laura Mercier Mineral Powder foundation was beginning to run low, I decided not to buy the exact same product again, but give something else a try instead. Last year I wrote about trying a sample of Estée Lauder’s Double Wear foundation – and although I was impressed with it, I didn’t end making a purchase, for whatever reason. I didn’t forget about it though, and bought myself a full size bottle a few weeks ago!
First of all, it makes me happy that Estée Lauder’s foundations go so light! (I wear 1C1 Shell, which is as light as you can go!) The texture of this foundation is sublime – so creamy. It leaves a matte finish and doesn’t smudge or mark your clothes. It’s thick but blends well, and it’s opaque enough that I don’t always need to use concealer. It glides on smoothly – especially with my Chanel foundation brush! I had £15 of vouchers for John Lewis, so I essentially got this half price. It’s short and easy to hold, with very soft bristles. Let’s be honest, though, I bought it because it’s Chanel! And I think every girl should have a little bit of Chanel in her life – even if it’s just from the cosmetics counter!
