If you're anything like me then your Wii probably collects dust when it’s not running Smash Bros. Brawl or random games of Mario kart. For a while now third party developers have been spending minimal effort and getting pretty big returns with shovel ware Wii games catering to the casual market. This year seems to be different so far. If you’re a hardcore gamer or a causal gamer looking for more than mini game collections there will be something for you. After the jump you'll find the full "serious business" gaming report.

First off we have The Conduit, a first person shooter shaping up to be the first great one on the Wii. Why should you care? The Developers are trying to squeeze every bit of graphically power out of the Wii and get around friend codes for the multiplayer. This release is brought to you by High Voltage Software and will be dropping around June 9th. Next we have Mad World, a third person brawler from Platinum Games (formerly clover studios of Okami fame). Mad World has a Sin City aesthetic with red for blood being the only stand out color, blood is also used for as a visual clue for what can used as weapons. Mad World will be bringing much needed buckets of blood to the Wii March 10th.

Those looking for a weekend on rails shooter fix there is House of the dead: Overkill on store shelves now. A game like Mad World that is taking a cue from movies with a Quentin Tarantino’s Grind House feel, all way down to the over the top violence and the genuinely funny cheesy dialogue. If you have played past HOD games you know that your only getting a weekends worth of content but you and a friend will this have fun. Continuing the new trail of fresh blood for the Wii is Capcom’s just released Dead Rising: Chop till you drop, a paired down but still fun port of the 360 game (There still isn’t a Playstation 3 version). Jumping, taking pictures and some zombies were chopped from this new release but if you’re a wii owner looking for a more mature game none of these should be a deal breaker and now with the increase in saves up from one it’s easier for someone to get into the mayhem.

A JRPG [Japanese Style RPG] fix will soon be on the way in form of Final Fantasy Crystal Chronicles: Echoes Of Time. Echoes will hopefully make up for the lackluster Ring of Fates. Echoes of time boosts online play that will allow 4 players to venture through dungeons whether they are using a Nintendo DS or Wii. Echoes of Time is currently slated to drop March 23rd. Finally we have the newly announced the prequel to Dead Space, Dead Space: Extraction which will be releasing this fall and accounts the events when the necromorphs were first discovered and the miners trying to escape with their lives. Extraction will also feature co-op play.

Now put down your happy go lucky kiddie games and go forth and kill stuff like grownups!

Recheck your credit card balance -- if you're close to the limit, now is the time to settle up. There are lots of ways to manage debt like shaking trees and selling the apples that fall out. If you didn't understand this piece of advice, it's because you don't play Animal Crossing, and therefore, are not a complete idiot. Congratulations.
